Techie Youth is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit registered charity of New York City that provides educational services and career guidance to foster kids and at-risk youth demographics, preparing them to become self-sufficient technology, IT and computer professionals.
A few years ago, a friend (and one of the co-founders) Eric David Benari asked me to 3D-print their logo for display in their NY classroom. I had just upgraded my Gigabot to a dual-extruder configuration and this was a perfect test of a 2-color large print.
Fast-forward a few years (and many appearances by the 3D-printed logo in various media created at the site) and Eric asked me to do something even bigger for their new location. I decided to cut a larger version of the logo on my Maslow CNC.
The new logo now hangs on an accent wall in their remodeled classroom. The Techie Youth program continues to expand (both from a geographic and curriculum perspective) and make a difference in kid’s lives. If you wish to donate to this worthy cause, you can use this link.
